Kapil Sharma is an Indian stand-up comedian, TV anchor and singer. He is currently the highest paid Indian television artist in 2014.[1] He was selected among top 100 celebrities in 2013 Forbes India magazines and he was ranked 96th in that list.[2][3] Currently he is hosting the Indian comedy show "Comedy Nights with Kapil"[1]

Sharma started his career with comedy reality shows like, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Comedy Circus and Ustaadon Ka Ustaad, launched his own show Comedy Nights with Kapil under his banner K9 Production, Sharma has also hosted reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6 and has made appearances in Bigg Boss.[4] Sharma hosted comedy show Chhote Miyan[5][6]He has won comedy series Comedy Circus Ke Superstars.[7] At CNN-IBN Indian of the Year awards, Sharma was felicitated with Entertainer of the Year award for 2013 by Amol Palekar.[8] In 2014 Lok Sabha Election, he was declared the Brand Ambassador by Delhi election commission.[9] He was to make his film debut with Yashraj film's Bank Chor, but the comedian opted out of it.[10] He was featured as guest on the opening episode of Indian television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 8 on 17 August.[11] He's making his film acting debut in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu directed by Abbas Mustan.[12]
